About this role
Emergency Management Specialist Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia Summary This position is located in the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD). The incumbent serves as the central point of coordination for emergency preparedness and mission assurance. Provides program management, technical and procedural guidance, and oversight of the Emergency Management Program to include: Continuity of Operations (COOP), Emergency Planning and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP), and special projects. Duties This is a Direct Hire Public Notice, under this recruitment, applications will be accepted for each location and/or installation identified in this Public Notice and selections are made for vacancies as they occur. This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section Direct Hire Auth 5 U.S.C. § 9905, 6/23/2023 Please read this Public Notice in its entirety prior to submitting your application for consideration. Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Development and implementation of a comprehensive, all-hazards emergency management plan designed to ensure the protection of personnel, reduce damage, and mitigate the loss of property. Develops, manages, and executes the comprehensive COOP program. Serves as a certified Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), performing technical oversight of contracts supporting the emergency management program. Education Education cannot be substituted for experience. Evaluation Note: Under this DHA, veteran's preference does not apply.
