About this role

Dental Sterilization Technician Fort Wainwright, Alaska Summary About the Position:This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. Duties Receive, disassemble, and inspect dental supplies, instruments and equipment. Determine appropriate method for sterilizing dental equipment. Conduct periodic inventory of supplies, instruments and equipment. Provide training and orientation to less experienced staff on dental sterilization techniques and procedures. Test operation of equipment daily for effectiveness of sterilization using various monitoring systems. Prepare and assemble surgical trays with instruments and materials for dental procedures. Maintain records of sterilization processes in accordance with established policy. Assist dentist with chairside treatment to patients, monitoring for signs of shock or other reactions. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
