About this role
Correspondence Management Specialist Alexandria, Virginia Summary This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary and Director (OUS), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The Correspondence Management Specialist serves as an authoritative advisor for all internal and external correspondence with direct responsibility of managing correspondence for the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, Deputy Under Secretary, and Director of the USPTO. Duties The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year. Able to review correspondence prepared for signature of the Under Secretary and Deputy Under Secretary for conformance to regulations, grammar, format, and special policies of the office. Able to draft and edit responses to correspondence for signature of the Under Secretary and Deputy Under Secretary. Interested in reviewing and analyzing all incoming documents from external sources, the White House, Congress, the Secretary of Commerce, staff of the DOC and other government agencies, staff of the USPTO, and the general public to assess appropriate response and ensure assignment to an appropriate business unit to develop a specialized reply.
