Founded in 1976, we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologistsnd three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit has more than 700 care sites across the U.S. and is committed to building healthy communities. Job Summary and Responsibilities Job Summary: The Physician Assistant is responsible for utilizing training and skills to pro9vide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician. Essential Responsibilities: Manage patients in collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgeons, providing specialty care to patients with acute and chronic problems. Triage or address consults for immediate care or elective care through the cardiothoracic surgery clinic. Participate in surgical clinic and inpatient rounding. Perform inpatient rounds on weekends on a rotational basis. Collects data pertinent to the patietns' status and pe3rforms bedside credentialed procedures. Maintains a professional demeanor and promotes a positive work environment. Performs and/or assists the supervising physician with discharge services including discharge planning, discharge summaries, and coordinating post-discharge follow-up care.
