Founded in 1976, we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit has more than 700 care sites across the U.S. and is committed to building healthy communities. Job Summary and Responsibilities Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician. This will be a night time position working 7 days on and 7 days off (after completeing training on days). Essential Responsibilities: Manage patients in collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgeons and critical care intensivists, providing specialty care ot patients with acute and chronic problems. Function as the primary responder for all cardiac surgery needs from 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Remain in ICU providing continuous active management except as needed to respond to other urgent inpatient/outpatient cardiac surgery needs. Triage or address consults for immediate care or elective care. Participate in inpatient rounding, writing progress notes, admission/transfer/postoperative orders, scheduling surgery and communication necessary for continuity of care.
