About this role

Management Specialist 7-Overhead Contact Systems (OCS) *This position can be based in any of our US based CDM Smith offices* We are seeking experienced Overhead Contact System (OCS) and Traction Power professionals to join our growing Transit & Rail team. The ideal candidate will bring proven technical knowledge, strong project leadership skills, and the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members. Key Responsibilities As a member of our team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by: Leading the development of project scopes, technical approaches, and fee proposals for OCS and traction power projects. Managing project- or task-level budgets and schedules, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. Providing hands-on oversight for traction power and OCS planning, design, analysis, or construction-phase services. Developing or reviewing design criteria, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates based on your area of expertise. Preparing technical reports and contributing to documentation that supports project decision‑making. Mentoring junior staff, assigning daily work, and supporting their technical and professional growth. Coordinating implementation plans and ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with business development teams to prepare competitive, high‑quality proposals responding to client RFPs. Reviewing proposals and deliverables for compliance with firm standards, industry best practices, and federal, state, and local regulations. Engaging with current and prospective clients to understand their operational needs and communicate CDM Smith's capabilities. Participating in industry associations, conferences, and professional activities, when appropriate.
