About this role
Environmental Engineer 4 At CDM Smith you'll work with a diverse, dynamic team applying the latest technologies to analyze, design, rehabilitate, renew, and expand critical water, wastewater, sewer, stormwater, and conveyance systems. You'll thrive in a supportive, collaborative, and mentorship-driven environment that encourages professional growth and continuous learning as you further your expertise. We are currently seeking a mid-level engineer with drinking water or wastewater design background to support a variety of water and wastewater projects in our Water Services Group locally and across the West Coast. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as lead tasks with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists. Water-sector experience will be considered on an individual basis, but experience in the following bullets is preferred. You'll have the opportunity to learn every day from our highly-skilled technical staff and project managers, participate in our mentoring program, and drive your professional development and gain skills through our Leadership Academy and extensive training available within CDM Smith University. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Develop, review, and approve basic to moderately complex engineering designs for: water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines and pump station engineering • Ensure all project designs comply with state, and local regulations. • Apply firm policies, procedures, and best practices across all engineering deliverables. • Conduct site visits, field reviews, and technical studies to verify design requirements and site-specific conditions. • Update project design criteria as needed throughout project
