About this role

Environmental Engineer 3 At CDM Smith, technical excellence and innovation drive everything we do. Our teams tackle complex water and environmental challenges through advanced engineering, applied research, and cutting‑edge design, delivering solutions that shape communities and advance the profession. Duties and Responsibilities • Under light supervision, create engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc., to meet client project requirements. Review draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. • Perform site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Update design requirements as necessary. Perform water quality analyses and modeling. • Contribute to the firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submit technical papers and designs for publishing technical journals. • Attend conferences, symposia, etc., to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. • Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Review the work of more junior staff.
