About this role

Senior AI and Data Protection Engineer United States #LI-CR2 #LI-Remote We are seeking a Senior AI and Data Protection Engineer to be a key contributor in maintaining and continuously improving our enterprise controls that protect sensitive data across its lifecycle. This role will lead technical delivery for data classification, labeling, and governance. Implement and maintain guardrails for AI including copilots, AI agents, and AI-enabled integrations/applications while also ensuring organizational data integrity. Responsibilities will span Microsoft Purview (Information Protection/eDiscovery), insider risk management, DLP, email security configuration, and securing AI. This role will also serve as a senior escalation point for complex investigations and data protection incidents. Essential Functions and Primary Duties Be a key contributor to the technical implementation and lifecycle management of data classification and sensitivity labeling across Microsoft 365, on-premises, supported SaaS applications and endpoints. Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies for Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, endpoints, and supported SaaS applications; validate effectiveness via testing and metrics. Own and execute eDiscovery end to end using Archive360 and Microsoft Purview: legal holds, content search, exports, and process improvements with Legal and HR. Triage insider threat alerts, contribute to case building, and assist with handoffs to Legal and HR. Implement AI security controls for enterprise AI usage (copilot, AI agents, and AI enabled integrations/applications) Assist in day-to-day administration and optimization of email security controls including policies, firewall, spam detection, and email authentication Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in computer science, Information Security, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
