Senior Freight Operator Coral Gables, FL Requisition Number: 45285 POSITION TITLE: Senior Freight Operator POSITION DUTIES: To be responsible for all aspects of international shipping voyages where agricultural and other bulk commodities are being transported, including preparing initial instructions, cargo and bunkers calculations, Profit and Loss management; processing hire and freight payments, and finalization of the voyage for cargoes in Panamax, Supramax and Handy sized vessels; appointing agents, surveyors and port captains; communicating with ship owners, charterers, brokers, traders and insurance companies such as P&I and Strike clubs; coaching trainees and newcomers on company procedures and department activities; fulfilling all internal processes and enforcing company policies; overseeing maritime legal disputes and arbitrations in coordination with legal department; coordinating the freight operations team to ensure on-time delivery; ensuring the team follows company policies and standards to meet goals; establishing and enforcing safety rules and regulations. Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Economics, International Relations or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Dry Cargo Operator, Vessel Logistics Specialist or in a closely related occupation in the agricultural or bulk commodity industry to include 3 years of experience handling Dry Bulk cargoes in Panamax, Supramax and Handy sized or similar vessels; interpreting applicab
