Job Description: Responsible for the safe operation and repair of all systems onboard the vessel. It is the duty of the Chief Engineer to keep himself and the Master fully informed and adhere to all relevant national and governing laws, regulations, company policies, and directives affecting the operation of the vessel. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Have a complete working knowledge of diesel engines and controls, Gen sets and controls, HVAC and controls, hydraulic systems, piping and steel fitting, welding, brazing, sweating, soldering, pump operation and repair, shipboard electrical systems, basic electronics, and pneumatic systems. Ability to perform duties as outlined by the vessel Station Bill. Train, coordinate, and supervise engine room team members. Coordinate all repairs and preventive maintenance aboard the vessel. Maintain the integrity of the hull, mooring systems, lifesaving appliances, machinery equipment, and other critical systems on the vessel. Maintain a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention. Proficient in all onboard equipment and systems. Ensure all emergency systems
