Description: The intern will assist the Non-Metals TX-56 group in establishing “best practice” guidelines for sample preparation, maintenance, and analysis results for various equipment (Scanning Electron Microscope, X-Ray, etc.). The intern will document the capabilities and limitations of the current equipment as well as research recommendations for future purchases. The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions: Assist the Non-Metals TX-56 group interview customers for analysis needs. Perform sample preparation for future analysis. Conduct analysis using lab equipment. Document results, including recommendations based on conversations with the customer. Research, evaluate, and document equipment capabilities, limitations, and costs. Create “best practice” guidelines for sample preparation, maintenance topics, and analysis results based on current lab equipment.
