About this role

Surveyor Bath, ME, US Job Description Bath Iron Works is seeking a candidate to join the Surveying team. In this role as a surveyor, you'll work in all areas of the shipyard from initial plate layout through ship delivery. The surveyors works with all levels of the organization and with Accuracy Control Engineers to provide required data to support the construction process. Ship construction surveyors are responsible for the layout of plate, unit, and ship construction control lines, installation and alignments of major equipment and the monitoring of the ship in its various stages of construction to ensure construction and fit-up tolerances are met. Additional Information This department currently operates on an optional 4x10hr schedule, otherwise defaulting to a 5x8hr schedule, with optional overtime depending on work load. Ability to earn up to $5 per hour additional while-assigned pay depending on skill & ability. Required/Preferred Education/Training Strong math skills, strong knowledge of geometry and trigonometry required. B.S. or A.S. degree in Surveying Engineering, Construction Technology or Architectural and Civil Engineering Technology or related field preferred but not necessary. Required/Preferred Experience Two years' experience in construction or industrial surveying or related field experience preferred. Detail oriented.
