About this role
GDB/ZF - External data management specialist (m/f/d) Country / Location India External Data Management Specialist (m/f/d) As part of our Data Products & Semantics Team, you play a key role in the management of external data at BASF. You are responsible for ensuring that high-quality external data is selected, procured, managed, and made available across the organization in a transparent and cost-efficient way. With a current portfolio of 11 major external data providers, the team streamlines data demand across Sales & Market functions, with a strong focus on pricing, company, and trade data. You will work at the intersection of data, procurement, controlling, and IT, contributing directly to the standardization at BASF. Your responsibilities • You take care of the external data management lifecycle, from data demand assessment, through purchasing and contract-related processes, to data delivery. • You manage and continuously optimize the external data provider portfolio, ensuring standardization in line with business needs. • You maintain and manage purchasing and work cycle processes in SAP in line with Procurement. • You serve as the central point of contact for the external data portfolio, acting as the knowledge authority for subscription packages, licensing models, and permitted usage across the organization. • You administer sub-services for external data subscriptions, including the creation, maintenance, and update of service calculations and cost models as well as general user access gatekeeping. • You actively support the implementation of ou
