1st Class Mechanic Country / Location United States Now hiring! 1st Class Mechanic McIntyre GA (Onsite) We are looking for a 1st Class Mechanic to join our Catalyst team in McIntyre GA. Come create chemistry with us! BASF's Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services. During your shift as a 1st Class Mechanic, you will Recognize and practice safe work habits in all daily duties. Install, rearrange, align, dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex equipment; diagnose complex equipment failures. Perform mechanic‑skill work including fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, and pipefitting using oxyacetylene, plasma arc, shielded arc, tungsten arc, flux‑cored, carbon arc cutting and gouging, and submerged arc methods. Occasionally perform work in other trades (pipefitter, rigger, rough carpentry, machinist, etc.). Use typical mechanic's tools, tool‑room inspection equipment, inspection gages, and involved shop math; operate production equipment to check work. Work from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions and read, comprehend, and execute tasks from technical operating and maintenance manuals. Inspect own and others' work for quality and dimensional requirements. Clean debris and lubricant from parts, equipment, and the work area.
