About the Role The Accounting Manager role at Base will be critical in the development of our accounting operations. Accounting owns the end-to-end financial reporting process, ensuring compliant, accurate and timely financial data is available to decision makers. This role will lead the general ledger functions, manage close activities and timelines, and support the evolution of our accounting systems. The accounting needs are growing rapidly, making this a unique opportunity to be involved early in key business decisions and form partnerships with other functional leads. What You'll Do - Lead and manage the day to day operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, cash management, accounts payable, travel & expense, and financial reporting. - Oversee period end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, while accelerating the close timeline. - Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring high quality supporting documentation. - Draft technical accounting memorandums in accordance with FASB codification to support unique and complex reporting matters. - Manage general ledger coding procedures, ensuring proper classification, use of data attributes, and accounting treatment of transactions. - Conduct thorough analyzes of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends,
