Quality Engineer – Battery Pack Production Line Homestead, Florida, United States AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Job Summary: The Quality Engineer will oversee and ensure the quality standards and processes throughout the battery pack manufacturing line. This role is critical in maintaining high product reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will collaborate closely with production, design, and supply chain teams to implement quality control measures, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes specific to battery pack assembly and testing. - Perform in-line inspections, process audits, and product testing to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. - Analyze data from production and testing to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement. - Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues detected during production or post-production. - Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure incoming components meet quality standards. - Support validation and qualification of new battery pack designs and manufacturing processes. - Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO standards) and customer requirements. -
