Scientist CD&D Color - New Berlin, WI Scientist CD&D Color - New Berlin, WI Position Summary: The individual holding this position is required to have working knowledge of Color Science in Food and Beverage applications, specifically with Colors Exempt from Certification (commonly known as Natural Colors), including common knowledge of raw materials and ingredients used in their creation. Also, a general understanding of formulation trouble-shooting and stability protocol for color and finished products is expected. The areas of knowledge should include: - Product Development - Broad Color Portfolio - Liquids and Liquid Blends - Dispersions - Powders and Powder Blends - Extracts and Juice Concentrates - Applications across Food and Beverage (Pet Food a plus) - Commercialization from Bench-Top to Production-Scale Prior experience with Color Development is required. The successful candidate should have strong presentation skills and the ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers. (Position may require some travel to customers.) Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for developing color formulations suitable for food & beverage applications (pet food application a plus) - Collaboration and cooperation with other employees, including other color scientists and product developers - Partner with Operations and QC to successfully scaleup newly created solutions - Executing stability protocol on color toolbox and finished products to validate stable solutions Core Competencies: - Sense of urgency; adaptability; ability to prioritize workload, with rapid shifts; open communication; technical knowledge; collaboration; flexibility; teamwork; problem solving; dependability; curiosity; integrity; commitment to safety.
