Assistant Superintendent - New Haven, IN Assistant Superintendent - New Haven, IN This is a salaried, exempt-level role Position Summary The Assistant Superintendent supports the Plant Superintendent in leading daily operations and maintenance of the New Haven grain elevator. This position plays a key role in ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently, and reliably through strong maintenance planning, equipment reliability programs, and operational oversight. The Assistant Superintendent ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, etc.) while developing and supporting hourly team members. Key Responsibilities - Lead maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime - Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs - Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failures - Manage spare parts inventory and maintain an organized storeroom - Track and analyze maintenance performance metrics using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar tool - Partner with the Plant Superintendent to identify and execute maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, safety, and cost efficiency - Apply strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds - Coordinate daily grain elevator operations, including loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, and storage of grain - Execute daily operational plans and prioritize shift activities to optimize resources and productivity - Support operational schedules, including housekeeping and preventive maintenance planning - Step in to support operations during off-hours or weekends as business needs require - Promote and enforce workplace safety and
