We conduct mixed-methods user research and create actionable insights that guide the design and development of Apple products. The role requires working at the intersection of many disciplines, on a variety of projects and with multiple partners. Curiosity to delve into new domains, the ability to learn from cross-functional, often highly technical partners and quick thinking are key. Ideal candidates are passionate user advocates, with the ability to anticipate, study and observe user interactions. They are technical and able to utilize and customize quantitative log collection, while also intuitively relating to the user and applying their intuition. The Human Engineering Human Factors team works closely with many teams around the company to conduct human centered research and create actionable insights to inform product decisions. Responsibilities include: Applying Human Factors Engineering (HFE) techniques and principles at all phases of product/technology development Exercising independent judgment in the development of study methodology, data collection efforts, data analysis, conclusions, and design recommendations Developing user study criteria and detailed methodology for widely varied projects, spanning from formative to evaluative, and qualitative to quantitative Conducting user-centered research and evaluation on a diverse user population, and utilizing experimental data and scientific publications
