Job Description: Are you a data‑driven Reliability Engineer with proven underground mining experience? Join us at Aquila Mine, Anglo American's high‑performance underground hard coking coal operation in Middlemount, QLD. As Australia's largest underground coal miner, we are scaling innovation, advancing new technologies, and extending the life of our Capcoal underground operations through to 2030. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the most technologically progressive underground sites in the country and we are seeking someone who brings hands‑on underground exposure and a passion for driving reliability excellence. As our Reliability Engineer, you'll ensure our maintenance systems perform to world‑class standards. You will drive reliability across critical underground equipment to sustain asset performance, reduce downtime, and support cost‑effective operations. Working closely with the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, your key responsibilities include: Leading reliability improvement initiatives across the engineering & maintenance teams Analysing asset performance and delivering long‑term improvement strategies Reviewing and refining maintenance strategies, with recommendations tailored to underground operations Coaching and supporting maintenance personnel to embed best‑practice processes Improving equipment availability through Asset Management, Condition Monitoring, Defect Elimination, Root Cause Analysis, and Machine Health Programs Actively contributing to ongoing continuous improvement and optimisation projects Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Engineering or a related discipline Demonstrated reliability or mechanical engineering
