Mine Trades Technician: Mechanical Moranbah, QLD, Australia Company Description: Real people, real mining, real difference Anglo American Steelmaking Coal Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia. Job Description: As a Mine Trades Technician - Mechanical in the Workshop, you will carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of underground coal mining equipment in a controlled workshop environment. Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will further develop your fault-finding and diagnostic skills while contributing to equipment rebuilds, component overhauls, and change-outs. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset focused on identifying defects and continuous improvement opportunities. Key Responsibilities Perform planned and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment, including, pumps, diesel equipment, and fixed plant within the workshop Assist with equipment rebuilds, overhauls, and component change-outs to support underground operations Work alongside experienced tradespeople to develop strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability Interpret SAP work orders, maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, and OEM manuals Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety, statutory, and environmental requirements Proactively identify equipment defects and improvement opportunities Accurately complete maintenance documentation and inspection reports Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications: Certificate
