About this role

Sr. Energy Strategy Manager, AWS Energy Team Arlington, Virginia, USA Amazon is seeking a self-starter to join the AWS Energy team in pioneering the future for data center utility power by developing and executing the strategy by which AWS delivers energy projects and partners with electric utilities and energy companies across the Americas. This individual will define the end to end (generation, transmission, distribution, backup power) power strategy for scaling and operating AWS' diverse, low-cost energy supply. In this role, you will manage multiple, large scale and technically complex power infrastructure projects across multiple geographies by facilitating close collaboration between both internal and external stakeholders. Within the overarching strategy, this individual must be resilient in exploring and discovering new supply opportunities (that delivery both near term capacity with an accelerated path to net-zero carbon supply), ultimately converting them into tactically sound and executable energy projects while working to reduce energy capital and operating expenses. Internally, responsibilities outside of implementing the defined strategy include reporting status, risks, mitigations and successes to C level and VP level leadership, as well as influencing multiple cross-functional partner teams in the overall data center capacity delivery business process. Externally, this role takes ownership of managing utility interactions, coordinating efforts between real estate, engineering and planning teams in site evaluation, project engineering, scheduling and budgeting, including influencing and contracting with the utility, EPC and/or Owner's Engineer to meet AWS' needs.
