Senior Software Development Engineer, Payroll Locker - Payroll Tech Seattle, Washington, USA Payroll Technology at Amazon is all about enabling our business to perform at scale as efficiently as possible with no defects. As Amazon's workforce grows, both in size and geography, Amazon's payroll operations become increasingly complex. The conventional manual processes are less effective in the new landscape, and we are building solutions to automate manual processes using a variety of OpenSource and Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies. We are building a platform with a unique combination of File Share, Data Lake, and Data Processing Engine with built-in anomaly detection, self-service onboarding, and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance tailored for each region. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter and is comfortable with ambiguity, and excel at building highly scalable solutions. They will have prior experience in solving complex problems, massive data volume, and complex business rules. Lastly, they will enjoy learning and implementing new technologies and will be independent in implementing it in suitable situations. Key job responsibilities As an SDE on our team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development and launch of some of the core product features. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices to delivery high quality products.
