Senior Software Development Engineer - AI Mftg & Automation, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Sunnyvale, California, USA Amazon's Devices Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer who will lead Software & Agentic AI development to automate new product engineering workflows through the generation of baseline artifacts used in the line bring up of assembly and test automation. This role includes cloud based AI/ML/LLM/VLM/VLA development work for deployment in manufacturing utilizing robot systems. Key job responsibilities Primary responsibilities include the following: - Innovate, design, and develop AI/ML solutions that scale. This involves coding in one of the key programming languages (C#, C, C++, Python) and developing Agents and software solutions that transform business requirements into actionable automation sequences working with deployments leveraging robots with multiple degrees of freedom required to support fungible automation stations. - Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models and agentic AI workflows to optimize manufacturing processes, including predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and adaptive process control. - Develop and integrate computer vision and deep-learning algorithms for automated optical inspection (AOI), defect classification, and quality assurance on production lines. - Build and maintain agentic AI systems that autonomously plan, execute, and monitor manufacturing tasks, leveraging Vision Language Models (VLM) and Vision Language Automation models (VLA) and multi-agent frameworks. - Troubleshoot issues to optimize MFG performance and solve complex manufacturing line problems. - Scale automation solutions working closely with Contract Manufacturers (CMs). - Document software code, specifications for internal and external stakeholders. - Act as first point
