About this role
Senior Financial Analyst, EC2 Capacity Finance Seattle, Washington, USA Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst for the EC2 Capacity Finance team to support the AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) business. This role will focus on capital expenditure planning, variance analysis, and multi-year forecasting for EBS capacity initiatives. The successful candidate will partner closely with execution teams, product management, and engineering to drive financial analysis and controllership across the EBS business. This position requires strong financial modeling capabilities, analytical rigor, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working across a highly matrixed organization. Key job responsibilities - Participate in continuous EBS capital analysis and capacity optimization initiatives. - Build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance. - Own and drive projects during planning and forecasting cycles. - Provide controllership during the capital purchasing approval process. - Develop, improve, and automate financial reports - Own and deliver ad-hoc business support projects. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to
