About this role

Principal TPM, Last Mile Delivery Automation Bellevue, Washington, USA Amazon is building the next generation of autonomous last-mile delivery systems. As a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Autonomous Vehicles, you will own the end-to-end AV program strategy and execution, spanning external autonomy vendors, OEM partners, internal engineering teams, and operational stakeholders. This role is accountable for turning ambiguous, multi-year autonomy bets into shippable, safe, and scalable systems, while navigating vendor dependencies, hardware and software constraints, regulatory considerations, and aggressive timelines. You will operate at the intersection of autonomy technology, hardware platforms, data infrastructure, safety, and last-mile operations, influencing decisions that materially impact Amazon's long-term delivery roadmap. Key job responsibilities Program Ownership & Strategy Own the multi-year Autonomous Vehicle program roadmap, including milestones across simulation, data collection, autonomy capability maturity, safety validation, and production rollout. Define and drive clear phase-gates (Alpha, Beta, GA) with measurable technical, operational, and safety KPIs. Translate Amazon's customer and business requirements into concrete technical and contractual deliverables for internal teams and external partners. External Vendor & Partner Management Serve as the single-threaded program owner for engagements with external AV vendors, OEMs, and technology partners. Drive alignment on scope, interfaces, timelines, ownership boundaries, and success metrics across Amazon and partner teams. Identify and proactively manage vendor risks (technology maturity, schedule slips, dependency coupling, IP boundaries, resourcing gaps). Lead technical deep dives and executive-level reviews with partners to unblock progress and resolve escalations.
