About this role
Manufacuring Automation Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) Sunnyvale, California, USA We pioneer the future of manufacturing automation at Amazon Lab126, where bleeding-edge AI meets robotics to redefine assembly at global scale. You'll lead mechanical hardware design from concept through production - integrating AI-driven solutions, advanced robotics, and AI based vision systems into innovative automation workcells. As the key interface between Hardware and Operations teams (US & China), you'll transform complex product requirements into intelligent, cost-effective automation. Key job responsibilities As a Manufacturing Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for driving world class manufacturing automation solutions to scale our operations globally. This will involve innovating automation solutions for assembly processes, explore latest technologies, design equipment and fixtures in 3D CAD. You will be a key member of the development team and will be the main interface between the Hardware and Product Design Engineering teams with local and Offshore Operations teams within Lab126 and our OEM partners. A day in the life Primary responsibilities include: a. Innovate, design and develop cost effective assembly automation solutions. This involves designing (3D CAD) of assembly automation equipment. b. Scale automation solutions working closely with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) c. Design, Develop custom automation solutions for very unique customer needs. In other words, design machines that does not exist in the World today. d. Review automation equipment DFM with CMs and internal stake holders. e.
