Design Engineer, Urban Fulfilment Bellevue, Washington, USA The SSD (sub-same day) Design Engineering team is searching for an innovative, solutions-oriented design engineer to spearhead new initiatives and develop the next generation of world-class industrial building designs. Utilize your analytical and systems design expertise to leverage advanced automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics. We seek resourceful engineers who are critical thinkers and excel in cross-functional collaboration. In this role, you will work closely with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our delivery stations. Your projects will be a variety of delivery station concepts and template-based design solutions that will enhance the effectiveness of Amazon's last mile network. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Ability to travel 25% to interact with internal and external business, operational and technical leaders. Key job responsibilities • Create detailed 2D CAD drawings of delivery station layouts, integrating conveyor systems, sorting equipment, and automation solutions based on operational requirements and capacity targets. • Lead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal last-mile delivery station solutions, incorporating advanced material handling equipment, automation technologies, and modular systems. • Develop and present comprehensive technical documents that detail the design specifications, engineering rationale, and how the project aligns with the business goals and requirements. • Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions. • Translate
