About this role
Welder Mcbee, SC PRIMARY FUNCTION (job summary/purpose) : The Welder 1 uses equipment to joint metals. The welder or welding operator shall visually inspect for weld defects before releasing material to the next station. SPECIFIC DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES (List in order of importance) Completes set up procedures and operates/ changeover moderately complex equipment Obtains parts and materials needed to complete tasks. Store and properly identify finished units Maintains an awareness of all safety issues within the area of responsibility and responds Notify the area team leader of unplanned downtime or quality issues. Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor. Perform other tasks as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICIATIONS (required skills/abilities) : Ability to understand and follow standard work and work instructions Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition and follow prescribed safety rules and quality procedures. Ability to perform repetitive work while paying attention to the detail and quality of work performed. Willingness to learn new tasks, cross-train, rotate and work as a part of a team. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to follow all safety and quality policies and procedures. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (required): ● High school diploma or equivalent. ● Completion of required GMAW welding training and on-the-job
